Man United’s Europa League final loss will not see them withdraw from the race for Ipswich Town star Liam Delap, sources have told Football Insider.

Ruben Amorim’s side fell 1-0 against Tottenham in Bilbao on Wednesday (21 May) – consigning them to a 2025-26 campaign without European football.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (20 May) that United are in pole position to land Delap ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have jumped ahead of their rivals, such as Everton and Chelsea, in the race to land the 22-year-old.

Man United will not withdraw from Delap race

Failure to secure Champions League football is a blow to finances and transfer plans at Old Trafford but it is believed they will press ahead in their pursuit for the England Under-21 international.

Delap can leave Ipswich via a relegation release clause of just £30million when the transfer window opens next month.

Both players have been inconsistent since arriving and Delap will get the starting spot if his arrival is finalised.

Matheus Cunha is also set to join Man United from Wolves but will play in a wide role under Amorim.
