Report: Everton prepare shock bid for Liverpool youngster loved by Jurgen Klopp as Reds name their price

Arne Slot looks set to have a massive clear-out at Liverpool this season, with numerous members of his squad already being linked with moves away.

The 2025-26 summer transfer window looks set to be a rather busy one for the Anfield outfit, with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Real Madrid move already confirmed.

Others, such as Luis Diaz, have also been linked with moves away from Liverpool, with Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, admitting that he liked the Colombian international.

Liverpool are often quiet bystanders in transfer windows, but with the way things have kicked off, that doesn’t seem to be the way things are headed this time around.

Everton are interested in Ben Doak as Liverpool name their price

Ben Doak was in fine form at Middlesbrough this season until an injury cut his loan spell with Michael Carrick’s men short.

Doak’s performances have alerted many clubs of his talent, and as per a report from The Telegraph, Everton are now ‘considering’ making a move for the Scotsman.

While Liam Delap is the Toffees’ main target, Doak’s situation is being ‘watched’ by David Moyes.

The report adds that the Anfield outfit values Doak at around £30million due to his high potential with the club ‘not proactively’ looking to offload him this summer.

Liverpool cannot allow Ben Doak to leave Anfield this summer

There’s no denying that Doak has plenty of potential to fill, with the attacker even making 10 goal contributions in the 2024-25 season.

However, the fact that Jurgen Klopp loved Doak should be one of the many reasons Liverpool should consider keeping him.

In addition to his glowing remarks from his former manager, he clearly has a keen eye for goal and has plenty of pace to burn if and when needed.

The 2024-25 season of Ben Doak in numbers.

Indeed, with Mohamed Salah extending his Anfield stay for a further two years, the Scotsman won’t be a regular starter any time soon, but with players such as Harvey Elliott hinting at an Anfield exit, plenty of opportunities could arise for games in the near future.

Only time will tell what the future holds but, even though Doak’s market value is likely the highest it’s ever been at the moment, the potential he has makes it feel like it’s worth keeping him around for a little longer.

That is, even if he spends another season out on loan after recovering from his injury.
