Former Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy has said that he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Arsenal target Eberechi Eze left Crystal Palace this summer.
The Gunners are set to add more talent in attack, with the striker position their biggest priority. They have been linked to signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, who could solve Arsenal’s longstanding ‘number nine’ issue.

They will also likely add an attacker who can play on the wing, with one name that has been linked being Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze. The 26-year-old has also been linked with Tottenham, Liverpool, Man United and Newcastle.
Eze has scored 10 goals in all competitions for Palace this season, with the most important coming in the FA Cup final when they beat Manchester City to secure the club’s first major trophy.
Former Premier League midfielder Murphy has said that Eze is more than capable of moving to a bigger team, and says that he could be a real difference-maker for someone like Arsenal.
He told Goonernews via talkSPORT BET: “There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that he’s capable of playing for a bigger team, I’m talking Champions League level. If you’ve got Eze in the squad, he’s going to make you stronger because he’s so talented and he can play in so many different positions.
“He’s a game changer, he’s got that wonderful ability not many players have. He’s able to create some magic moments that win games without even playing well sometimes.”
Murphy says Eze will “want” to play for a team like Arsenal
Despite the fact that Palace have booked themseleves a spot in the Europa League next season by winning the FA Cup, Murphy suggests that Eze will want to move to a bigger team to play in the Champions League and compete for trophies.
He said: “In terms of his own ambition, I would imagine he wants to play the top level of football, which is the Champions League. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him leave.”
Eze has a £68m release clause in his contract at Selhurst Park which is set to run until June 2027. Palace will most likely cash in on him by then.
