Report: What Everton have promised to convince Liam Delap to pick them over Man United

Everton are just one of many Premier League clubs looking to sign Liam Delap this summer.

Some really important days lie ahead of Delap as he prepares to choose his next club following a season with Ipswich Town.

Coming into the summer window, Everton are keen to sign a new striker as they still await a decision on Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future.

Everton fans will be hoping to see some statement signings made as they prepare for their move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

David Moyes has wanted to improve Everton’s attack since he returned to the club back in January.

Goals have proven an issue for the Toffees throughout the season despite Beto’s purple patch under Moyes.

Everton have now spoken to Delap as they look to beat the competition to his signature, and they have now made him a promise to persuade him to Merseyside.

Delap has also spoken to Manchester United and Chelsea recently with the pair looking to secure his signature.

According to Paul Joyce, Moyes has promised Delap regular playing time at Everton if he is to make the move this summer.

There is no doubt Everton are going to be up against it this summer if they are going to land the 20-year-old striker.

It is claimed Newcastle United are also in the race for Delap, but it is Everton who have regular playing time and a state-of-the-art new stadium to offer.

Delap is expected to make his decision very soon, with the striker set for a busy summer on England U21 international duty.

The clubs watching on will be hoping Delap does not suffer any injury issue which could put his 2025/26 campaign on hold.

What Kieran McKenna said about Delap’s options

Moyes is open to signing two new strikers this summer as there could still be further exits on Merseyside.

Beto has shown signs of promise, but the 26-year-old did also endure a barren run over recent months.

Delap is the striker on the lips of most Premier League clubs this summer after his impressive first Premier League campaign.

And his manager Kieran McKenna has now admitted the player is assessing his options for life away from Portman Road.

“Liam’s looking at his options for next year, which I think he is entitled to do and we support him with that,” he said.

"It looks more likely than not that he will move on" 💬

“I think we have given him permission to do that this week. It’s a very important decision for his future.

“Of course there is a lot of interest – and rightly so. I think part of his week has been having some of those conversations.
