Leverkusen want “unsellable” £20m Manchester United outcast

Bayer Leverkusen want Manchester United outcast and on-loan Chelsea star Jadon Sancho to bolster their squad during the summer window. Chelsea have triggered the obligation to buy Sancho, but they have a clause to get out of that permanent deal.

The London club are facing indecisiveness after the England international performed inconsistently throughout the season, showing glimpses of his talent. The fallout between Sancho and former United manager Erik ten Hag ended the 25-year-old winger’s tenure with the Red Devils.

The arrival of Ruben Amorim at Man United has not changed the stance of the club with regards to Sancho. The 25-year-old failed to live up to the expectations in the Premier League despite enjoying an incredible start in Germany.

Sancho joined United from Borussia Dortmund for £73m after enjoying an incredible tenure in the Bundesliga with the German club. However, the Englishman failed to contribute a similar level of goals and assists at United, which he enjoyed at Dortmund.

The 25-year-old has made 40 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season, contributing four goals and providing 10 assists. Chelsea have triggered the obligation to pay between £20m and £25m to the Red Devils to permanently sign the Englishman.

However, the London side are indecisive and could use a £5m clause to get out of the deal this summer. According to The Independent, Leverkusen want Sancho from United during the summer window to bolster their squad amid Chelsea’s indecisiveness.

The price tag will play a critical role in any potential deal, particularly when a high-spending club like Chelsea are not ready to meet the £20m valuation. United will take a big hit, but they need to sell their surplus quickly to back Amorim during the summer.
