Aston Villa captain John McGinn has reminded the players to be "wary" of Manchester United given their history of bad form at Old Trafford.
Villa go into tomorrow's final day assignment with Champions League qualification at stake on what promises to be a fascinating afternoon.
A win for Unai Emery's side will be enough to secure a place in next season's competition should either Newcastle and Chelsea drop points or Man City lose.
Should it finish a draw, Villa would need Newcastle to lose to Everton, as there would be no result possible from the Forest vs Chelsea game that would see Emery’s side finish above both.
Villa will fancy their chances of getting a result at United given their horrific form this season and they are also licking their wounds after losing the Europa League final to Spurs on Thursday night.
But Villa have won just twice at Old Trafford in the league in the last 25 years and McGinn has reinforced that message to the players.
“I know Man United have had a bit of disappointment, but at home they’re still a team you need to be wary of, a (place) where we’ve had bad form. I’ve reminded the lads of that, and we’re going to have to be at our best," he said.
“I think they’ll have a point to prove. They’re still a very talented squad. They’ve spent a lot of money on their squad, and I think they’ll be trying to rebuild for next season.
“(After) The obvious disappointment as a player, all you want to do is get back out on the pitch and try and get back to winning ways and prove people wrong.
“We have to be aware that it’s not just as simple as people are trying to say. They’re still a top-class side with world-class players in it. They’ve got potential to hurt us. We need to be on our toes and be ready for it.”
