Bayer Leverkusen look all set to lose star man Florian Wirtz as Premier League champion Liverpool open up talks for the talented 22-year-old.

As such, the Bundesliga club are in need of a replacement for their talisman who has scored 57 goals and grabbed 65 assists in 197 games since being promoted from the academy in 2020.

Now, Wirtz looks set to head to the Premier League as one of United’s attackers is being scouted to head the other way and join the German side.

The Independent has reported that Leverkusen are eyeing up Jadon Sancho as a proven Bundesliga attacker after his time with Borussia Dortmund.

Jadon Sancho identified to replace Florian Wirtz

The former England international is currently on loan with Chelsea, however it’s looking like the London-based side are aiming to back out of their obligation to buy at the end of the season.

With an obligatory transfer fee of £25 million, Chelsea are strongly considering triggering the £5 million penalty fee to pull out of the deal.

As such, the former Dortmund winger could be available to head back to the Bundesliga, with United having no interest re-integrating him into their squad.

During his time with Dortmund over his two spells in the Bundesliga, Sancho has registered 53 goals and 67 assists in 158 games, giving him a better goal contribution rate that Wirtz.

Leverkusen will be hoping that a move back to Germany for Sancho will help to kickstart his career once more, helping to less the loss of Wirtz’ seemingly imminent departure.
