De Bruyne is arguably City’s greatest ever player, and while De Bruyne hasn’t been at his best this season, he may well have one final trick up his sleeve this weekend.

De Bruyne is bound to receive a great reception this weekend, even from the away fans, and speaking to Man City’s YouTube channel, the midfielder has been discussing the respect he receives from other fanbases.

The City star says that he found this strange, but he does appreciate how other fans respect him for his personality and his ability.

“It’s very rare that a player commands respect from fans of all clubs, do you feel that in England that you are respected by the Premier League community?” De Bruyne was asked.

“Yeah, probably, I think I had it at Everton, they were all clapping me, it was a bit weird because you don’t expect it. People maybe appreciate the way I play. I’m a no-nonsense player, straight to the point. People sometimes don’t like what I say, but they appreciate it because I speak what I think,” De Bruyne said.
