This is a Chelsea predicted lineup for their Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest. This is a key outing on the final day of the season as both clubs are aiming to earn Champions League football with a win. Just one point separates the glut of teams from fourth and seventh so anything but a win will not be enough for the Blues to retain a spot in the top five.

How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently
Rob Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen have shared the goalkeeper duties depending on the competition. The back four has been very flexible depending on the opposition, Marc Cucurella, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo, Moises Caciedo, Josh Acheampong, Malo Gusto, and Reece James have all been used in the back four in recent outings.

Caicedo and James have also played in midfield where they compete with Romeo Lavia, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Enzo Fernandez. Enzo has played higher up if needed but generally the attacking spots are used for Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer, Jadon Sancho, and Pedro Neto. Tyrique George can play on the wing but has become a striker option as the season draws to a close, usually playing there when Nicolas Jackson is unavailable.
Chelsea Recent Form & Tactics
Enzo Maresca has continued to use his 4-2-3-1 base which shifts when in possession to either a 3-2-4-1 or a 2-2-5-1, depending on the opposition. This allows the team to focus on recycling possession and winning the ball back high up the pitch whenever it’s lost. Both full backs tend to invert to another position with the left-back often moving into one of the number ten spots, which is why Cucurella has scored so many goals this calendar year.

The Blues are on a pretty exceptional run with only one defeat in their last seven outings. That included wins over Liverpool, Fulham, and a scrappy Everton side. Despite both Palmer and Jackson finding it difficult to put the ball in the net, the team have found goals from elsewhere, only failing to score against the Magpies when they had ten players on the pitch.
Chelsea Injuries to Consider
In his pre-match conference, the manager indicated that Marc Guiu and Christopher Nkunku could be available. The lack of updates elsewhere likely means Wesley Fofana and the suspended duo of Nicolas Jackson and Mykhailo Mudryk are the only guaranteed absentees
Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Nottingham Forest
Maresca certainly has some headaches ahead of this one. James, Lavia, Caicedo, Enzo, and Palmer are all key to how he plays but the system he uses can’t for them all in. Someone will have to miss out, the question is who?
