Nottingham Forest are considering making a move to sign Liverpool defender Jarrell Quansah ahead of the summer transfer window.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 22-year-old would benefit from a move to the City Ground.
Forest are prepared to explore both permanent and loan moves for the centre-back as they prepare to strengthen their squad to compete in Europe.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider on 19 May that Liverpool are open to loan offers for Quansah amid interest from a number of clubs.
There is a growing feeling that the defender is keen to play regular football at this stage of his career and he is unlikely to be afforded that under Arne Slot.
Instead, Football Insider revealed that Liverpool want to sign a new centre-back, which will push Quansah further down the pecking order.

Nottingham Forest plot Jarell Quansah deal after Liverpool claim
Brown told Football Insider that Quansah is open to leaving Liverpool in search of first-team football amid interest from the likes of Newcastle.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that the defender needs to play regularly for his development.
“*Nottingham Forest are one of the sides interested in Quansah,*” he told Football Insider.
“Whether it’s a permanent move or a loan, they want to do a deal.
“If he’s not playing regularly, he’s missing a key part of his development.
“From what I hear, Liverpool and the manager would be willing to let him go on loan, and a loan spell is exactly what he needs.
“He needs to play regularly in the Premier League, and there is no shortage of interest in him, so he can develop his game and get used to starting at the top level.
“Going to somewhere like Nottingham Forest would be good for him.
“He would have to be part of a team and a unit where each performance really matters.
“At Liverpool, you can get away with things you may not elsewhere because you’ve got the likes of Van Dijk and Salah to get you out of trouble.
“At Forest, he’d have to step up and be counted, which would be good for his game.
*“They want to strengthen their squad to prepare for competing in Europe, and he’s on their radar.*“

Arne Slot plots Anthony Gordon swoop amid busy summer claim
While a number of potential departures have been considered at Anfield this summer, they are also putting plans in place to strengthen their squad.
Football Insider revealed on 22 May that Liverpool want to sign Anthony Gordon and could revisit their interest after missing out last year.
Newcastle are reluctant to sell their star players this summer, but privately value the England international at around £100million.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 18 May that Newcastle will demand “big money” for Gordon amid renewed interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool.
