It seems like Evertonians now have a soft spot for Kevin De Bruyne after his departure from Man City.
The Everton fanbase is full of remarkable people who come up with brilliant gestures, and they certainly did so for the City captain.
Extraordinarily, Everton fans applauded De Bruyne in what was his final ever game at Goodison Park.
The legendary playmaker will be leaving his club at the end of the season, so it would’ve been nice for the Belgian to receive the applause.
De Bruyne thanked Everton fans for the warm exit, but the midfielder has now spoken further on what he thought of the fans.

Kevin De Bruyne on what he thinks of Everton fans
In what has been an emotional month for Everton fans, Goodison will be closing its doors.
Well, that’s for the men’s team at least, as the women’s team will play at Goodison next season.
The decision was taken with mixed reviews, but one thing for certain is that De Bruyne has played his final game at The Grand Old Lady.

As mentioned, the 33-year-old thanked the Toffees faithful, but now he’s given a more detailed response on what he actually thought of the gesture.
Speaking in his final ever interview for City’s club media, De Bruyne certainly found it strange to see the appreciation when he was asked if he felt respected.
“Yeah, probably, I think I had it at Everton, they were all clapping me, it was a bit weird because you don’t expect it,” De Bruyne said.
“People may appreciate the way I play. I’m a no-nonsense player, straight to the point.
“People sometimes don’t like what I say, but they appreciate it because I speak what I think.”

De Bruyne has been mooted for a move to Everton
With the Belgian leaving after a ten-season stay in Manchester, a new club for De Bruyne needs to be decided.
Of course, his career speaks for itself, and this season he’s shown his brilliance once more, and at the age of 33, it’s still so impressive.
De Bruyne’s Premier League statistics this season

Well, could the midfielder find himself starting his new era at Everton’s new home?
It’s been suggested that De Bruyne joins Everton if the veteran wanted to stay around the Manchester area.
Obviously, nothing has come out surrounding this, but De Bruyne has been impressed with Jake O’Brien, potentially already meaning he’s taken a liking to David Moyes’ plans.
