Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has told Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club during the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.
The Argentina international has been a key player for the Red Devils this campaign. He has registered 11 goals and 10 assists from 58 appearances.
Despite this, his future has been regularly talked about. The club actively looked to sell him during the last transfer window, but a deal did not materialise.
It is now reported that Amorim has informed Garnacho to find a new club when the transfer window reopens. The 20-year-old does not feature in his plans.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese tactician offered to walk away from United without compensation after the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
However, the hierarchy have offered full support. Amorim has informed the United squad that he will continue as the head coach for the 2025/26 campaign.
United set to part ways with Garnacho this summer
Garnacho was heavily tipped to leave the Red Devils in January amid interest from Chelsea and Napoli.
United did not come close to negotiating his exit, but Ornstein recently revealed that it is ‘highly possible’ that he could be sold at the end of the campaign.
The Red Devils reportedly valued him at around £65 million earlier this month, but the price tag could be much less after the club’s failure to qualify for Europe.
United would have received at least £85m with Champions League qualification, and now need to make up for the losses with more than one high-profile exit.
Garnacho’s departure would provide pure profit under the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
The same will be the case with Marcus Rashford, who is poised to leave on a permanent basis.
Aside from the duo, Jadon Sancho and Antony are also expected to be shown the exit door.
