Ruben Amorim tells key player to 'find new club' as bombshell update on future emerges

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has reportedly told a key player to find a new club.

Amorim, 40, watched his Man Utd side lose 1-0 against Spurs in Wednesday’s Europa League final with several key players failing to make a positive impact on proceedings.

In the aftermath of the defeat, Alejandro Garnacho, who was used as a late substitute, spoke out following his omission from the starting XI.

“Obviously, it’s hard for everyone,” Garnacho told reporters after the game.

"Our season was s**t. We didn’t beat anyone in the league. We lacked a lot of things. When you don’t score goals, you always need more.

“Until we reached the final, I played every round. And I played 20 minutes today – I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next.”

The player’s brother, Roberto, also gave his thoughts on social media.

"Working as no one else, helping every round, coming from two goals in the last two finals, just to be on the pitch for 19 mins and get thrown under the bus. Wowe hahahahahaha," he wrote on Instagram.

On Saturday afternoon (May 24), The Athletic’s David Ornstein dropped a huge update on the player’s future.

“Ruben Amorim has informed his Manchester United squad he will remain in charge next season — while telling Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club,” Ornstein wrote.

Amorim is said to have addressed the playing squad at United's Carrington training base on Saturday to "inform them of his own plans and of those for Garnacho".

Chelsea and Napoli, who made a bid for the player in January, are two clubs which have been heavily linked with a potential move for the Madrid-born Argentina international. ESPN also reports that United expect interest from other Premier League clubs and Saudi Arabia.
