Ruben Amorim has reportedly told Manchester United players he will be in charge next season.

The Portuguese boss has been under-fire due to United’s awful Premier League results, which have been compounded by defeat in the Europa League final.

After the final, Amorim offered to walk away from the club without any compensation if the board no longer felt he was the man to lead the club forward.

However, it appears he’s been given the support of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the board. According to The Athletic, Amorim told the players at Carrington on Saturday that he would be remaining at the club.

It’s added that Garnacho was also informed that he would need to find a new club after his United future had been in doubt for some time.

The Argentine was previously linked with a January exit, with both Napoli and Chelsea rumoured to be interested. He also hit out at Amorim for starting him on the bench in Bilbao and only bringing him on for the final 20 minutes.

“It’s hard for everyone. The season was s***, both now losing the final tonight, and in the league, where we didn’t beat anyone, that’s the truth,” Garnacho told Argentine press after the final.

“Up until the final, I’ve played every round, and today to play 20 minutes… I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens after.”
