The Pittsburgh Steelers and Aaron Rodgers situation still has not reached a conclusion. At this point, the expectation is that he will be the starting quarterback for the team in 2025, but that is not set in stone.
Recently, Rodgers hinted about playing for the Steelers when speaking to a Chicago Bears fan. He said that there's a team that will hit the road to play the Bears in 2025, which Pittsburgh will do in Week 12.
Despite all of the reports and expectation that Rodgers will sign with the Steelers, he has not put pen to paper. Until he does so, there will continue to be questions about him and his intentions.
A new update has been revealed by ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler. He suggested that there is another quarterback Pittsburgh has been looking into if things go south with Rodgers.

Fowler revealed that Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins is still a consideration for the Steelers.
"So Rodgers Plan A, Kirk Cousins could be a viable Plan B," Fowler said. "After making some calls today, I do believe he's been on their radar. If something were to fall through with Rodgers, certainly they could reconvene, call Atlanta, and see if they could shake something out. But right now, Rodgers is their guy."
Cousins is a solid quarterback, but he is coming off a rough 2024 campaign. Part of that could have been due to it being his first year back from a torn Achilles, but the 36-year-old quarterback had a turnover problem.
He completed 66.9 percent of his passes for 3,508 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions.

Rodgers, on the other hand, completed 63 percent of his pass attempts for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. His numbers were better, and his track record speaks for itself.
Pittsburgh would prefer to land Rodgers. He would be the quarterback who could help power them to serious contention in the AFC. Cousins would be a decent fallback option who would be a better option than Mason Rudolph or Will Howard for the 2025 season.
Expect to hear more news about Rodgers in the near future. He's still likely to sign with the Steelers, but should he choose to pass on the opportunity, there is a chance Cousins could become the new target.
