After three Premier League defeats in a row, Wolves will want to end their 2024/25 Premier League campaign with a bang on Sunday.
Wolves host European-chasing Brentford in the Premier League, in what could be many players’ final time in gold.
Matheus Cunha is set to join Manchester United, while Rayan Ait-Nouri is wanted by big clubs, and Hwang Hee-chan has interest from Europe.
The above trio are just some of the few potentially on their way out, as Wolves compete for extra Premier League prize money.
That is the only thing Pereira’s men have to play for, other than prize, and some predictions ahead of the showdown at Molineux.

Chris Sutton shares Wolves vs Brentford prediction
Wolves have a worrying record, having lost on the final day in nine of their last 10 campaigns in the top-flight, with the exception being a 2-1 win over Sunderland in 2009-10.
As Brentford are in ninth position and can still qualify for Europe, many expect Thomas Frank’s men to add to Wolves’ misery on Sunday, but Chris Sutton doesn’t think that will be the case.
Date Result
February 2024 Wolves 0-2 Brentford
October 2024 Brentford 5-3 Wolves
In his column for BBC Sport, Sutton has predicted a 1-1 draw between the two sides. He wrote: “I am not sure which Wolves we will see here – after going on a six-match winning streak, they have now lost three games in a row – or if their star forward Matheus Cunha will be recalled after starting Tuesday’s defeat by Crystal Palace on the bench.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
“Brentford still have an outside chance of finishing eighth despite losing at home to Fulham last week – I admit I did not see that result coming, but I rarely do when Fulham are involved.
“Brentford have been great on the road recently and have only lost one away game since Christmas, but I am going to go for a draw here for tactical reasons, because I think everyone else will too.”
Paul Merson thinks Brentford will beat Wolves
While Sutton is confident Wolves can end their campaign with a point, Paul Merson backs Brentford to secure a 2-0 victory over the hosts in their pursuit of European qualification.
“It was a bad result for Wolves the other day. Crystal Palace would’ve been partying all week after the FA Cup win and they still beat Wolves! That is quite disappointing from Wolves’ perspective.
“Brentford will also want to put their last game behind them. They were leading 2-1 against Fulham and ended up losing that match. It was just one of the most shocking turnarounds that not many people saw coming. Obviously, Liverpool losing to Brighton only made it worse for Brentford.
“I’m expecting Brentford to win here. All they can do now is get the three points, finish eighth and hope that Chelsea win the Europa Conference League to give them a chance of playing in Europe next season.”
Hopefully, Wolves can defy Merson’s expectation and secure a victory on the final day to end their campaign on a high.
