Alejandro Garnacho Man United Old Trafford
Man United Old Trafford
The Manchester United board has decided to put their faith in Ruben Amorim and the first thing the manager has done is inform Alejandro Garnacho that he needs to find a new club, according to The Athletic.
Garnacho had been sulking ever since he was left out of Man United’s starting lineup for the Europa League final and fears were growing that Man United would have to offload him along with a few others in order to bring in funds. However, it seems like Amorim has decided that the Argentine international is no longer fit to be part of his squad and has green-lit his sale.
Thankfully, for the 20-year-old, he has no shortage of takers as some of the biggest names in European football have already been linked with him. Man United have set a price tag of around £60 million and the Red Devils are confident that multiple clubs will be ready to pay that much for a talented player like him.
With an exit almost inevitable, we try to predict what his next destination is going to be.
Real Madrid – 4/10:
Real Madrid have very recently been linked with Alejandro Garnacho but unless Vini Jr leaves for the Saudi Pro League, Perez will not want to sign a new left-winger. Garnacho can also play on the right-hand side but the Argentine is more suitable in the position that Vinicius Jr currently occupies.
Atletico Madrid – 5/10:
The 20-year-old joined Man United from Atletico’s U19 team in 2019 and the winger is now willing to return to the club in the hopes of reviving his career. Man United’s £60 million could be off-putting for the Spanish side among other things.
Napoli – 8.5/10:
Napoli seems to be a very realistic target for the winger because the Serie A side have been linked with him for a long time. They had even failed to sign him in January but now that Antonio Conte’s side have become the Italian champions, they will be confident of landing Alejandro Garnacho.
As per reports, Napoli are willing to pay £50 million for Garnacho and this is where the negotiations will slow down.
Arsenal – 2/10:
Arsenal are looking for a new left-winger and Mikel Arteta would love to bring in someone like Alejandro Garnacho. Money shouldn’t be a problem for them because they have already been linked with expensive wingers like Nico Williams and Rodrygo.
Also, because Man United are in need of funds they will be forced to sell to a direct rival.
However, this move looks unrealistic because Arsenal seem to have no sort of interest in the winger and the rumours suggest that Garnacho will only offer himself to the Gunners once all his other doors have been shut.
Chelsea – 7/10:
Chelsea, like Napoli, have also been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old for some time and they are also in the hunt for a new left-winger. Jadon Sancho will return to Man United and the Blues will get rid of Mudryk so that left-hand side will be completely vacant for Alejandro Garnacho to come in and become a regular starter.
After Napoli, the Blues are best placed to sign the Man United misfit but they will have to wait for the Serie A side to pull out of this transfer race.
Can Alejandro Garnacho still turn things around at Old Trafford?
Ruben Amorim has a massive rebuild job on his hands but even in the toughest of times, the manager has stuck to his principles. The players who have not bought into his ideology have been shown the door and the same is about to happen with Garnacho.
Marcus Rashford did not even say anything publicly against the manager nor did he sulk and still his career at his boyhood club is coming to an end so Garnacho has no chance.
Now, the Argentine international needs to find his next best option and Man United hope that they can bring in a healthy amount of funds in the form of pure profits.
