Maxx Crosby Puts Sports World on Notice With Stern Olympics Comments

Football is coming to the 2028 Summer Olympics in the form of flag football. When the news was first revealed, there were some questions about whether or not NFL players would be able to participate.

Well, the league just made it official that they will permit players to join up with their national teams. Naturally, this had led to many football players getting excited about their chances of winning a gold medal.

Though it's still four years away, Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby is hoping he'll eventually get a shot to represent Team USA. He doesn't think any other country has a chance against Team USA in 2028.

β€œI definitely would love to play,” Crosby said when asked about the NFL allowing players to play in the Olympics. β€œIt depends on when that is and what the time frame is. Represent America, go get a gold medal. We would smoke everybody, so I think it would be a hell of a time.”

According to the International Federation of American Football, the USA already has the top flag football teams for men's and women's. That's without NFL players being involved at all.

It remains to be seen if the National Olympic Committees will even select NFL players. There are many flag football players who have been waiting for this moment for years. Flag football is also a different sport from tackle football.

That said, many of the country's best athletes are in the NFL, so it's hard to imagine there won't be at least a couple of players who get a bid.
