Moyes needs midfield recruits at Everton

Orel Mangala missed the majority of the second half of the campaign and returns to Lyon for the new campaign, if not signed permanently.

James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam have had their fair share of injury issues, Idrissa Gueye is getting older, and Abdoulaye Doucoure will leave when his contract expires.

Therefore, the Merseysiders need fresh impetus in the engine room, and Mukau would fit the bill given the fact that he is just 20 years old.

The youngster is highly rated at the French outfit due to his athleticism and would add dynamism to Moyes’ midfield, and has contributed one goal and two assists in 37 matches in all competitions.

It seems like the new recruitment structure is looking to France and youth for their new additions, as the Blues have also been linked with 21-year-old Strasbourg maestro Habib Diarra in a £25m deal.

They have also been credited with an interest in Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah, so it seems like they are scouring the market in Ligue 1 for underrated talent.

That could be a very good strategy, the likes of N’Golo Kante and Youri Tielemans came straight into English football from their nation and thrived, so it could definitely pay off.
