Manchester United are open to parting ways with Rasmus Hojlund after a disappointing season, according to GiVEMESPORT sources.
It has been a turgid season for the Red Devils, one that will see them finish with their lowest-ever points total in a Premier League season. After parting ways with Erik ten Hag early in the campaign, Man United turned to Ruben Amorim, appointing the then-Sporting boss as their new manager.
Towards the end of the season, it became apparent that all the club’s hopes depended on the Europa League. Man United were a different beast in Europe compared to the Premier League, suggesting that Amorim would find a consistent tune from his players in time.
Defeat to Spurs in that final, however, could prove to be a dagger for Man United. The club will now not play in Europe next term, cutting off what would’ve been a crucial source of funds. To generate mass money, the club will now have to sell, at least more than they had already planned to do.
It has already been confirmed that Alejandro Garnacho has been told to find a new club and it appears that Amorim wants further departures to better reshape his team.
Hojlund to Leave?

Rasmus Hojlund in action for Manchester United
In August 2023, Manchester United signed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for £72 million. Then 20 years of age, Hojlund was regarded as one of the most promising strikers in Europe at the time of his transfer and while he still has plenty of potential at 22 years old, the forward has found form hard to come by at Old Trafford.

GMS sources were told that Amorim has 'made it clear to the Manchester United hierarchy' that Hojlund being his only striker is not a situation he wants to continue. The Portuguese is said to be 'very surprised' at Hojlund’s level of quality, given how much money he cost.
It would also appear that, if Man United fail to find a buyer for Hojlund, they are happy for him to depart on loan. Keeping in line with Profit and Sustainability Rules, a loan would be a smarter deal for the Red Devils if they are only sent under-valued permanent bids for the striker. Hojlund still has room to grow as a player but it appears that such development, should it happen, may do so away from Manchester.
