Bruno Fernandes could be the first of six first-team players to leave Man United this summer after they failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what his sources have told him about a potentially busy summer transfer window at Old Trafford.
Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Josua Zirkzee, Casemiro and Andre Onana are among the other regular starters facing the axe.
This comes after Fernandes confessed he would be prepared to leave Old Trafford if the club feel they have to cash in on him to raise funds.
Hojlund and Zirkzee, meanwhile, are attracting interest in a return to Serie A, while Garnacho is belived to have grown frustrated with his lack of starts under Ruben Amorim.
Casemiro, as one of the club’s highest wage earners, could be moved on to save funds while Saudi interest in Fernandes and Onana has raised the possibility of their departures.
Player Appearances Starts Minutes Played

Joshua Zirkzee 49 22 2,257
Casemiro 41 30 2,709

Man United plan to cash in on six first-team stars
Former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Hojlund is unlikely to stay at Man United and could leave to free space for a replacement.
After missing out on Champions League qualification and the money that comes along with it, there is a growing possibility the club will have to sell before they buy.
O’Rourke explained that a number of players have been earmarked for potential moves, raising the possibility of a mass exodus from Old Trafford.
“*Bruno [Fernandes] said he’d understand if the club wanted to cash in on him,*” he told Football Insider.
“There is interest from the Saudi Pro League in the Portugal international.
“He’s the most sellable asset at Old Trafford right now, because his form has been superb despite all the struggles at Man United on the pitch this season.
“Another one would be Alejandro Garnacho, they were open to offers for Garnacho in the January window when there was interest from Chelsea and Napoli.
“There are question marks around Rasmus Hojlund who has struggled in front of goal this season.
“There’s obviously interest in the Denmark international from Italian clubs.
“Zirkzee will have interest from Italy as well, having impressed in Serie A before his move to Old Trafford.
“Casemiro obviously is a big wage-earner at United and if they got a big offer they’d consider that.
“We’ll wait and see what happens with Onana as well.
“The goalkeeper has come in for a lot of stick from United fans this season for some below-par performances and there’s been talk of Saudi Pro League interest.”

Ruben Amorim sack update emerges at Old Trafford
Amid growing speculation about a number of first-team players at United, there has also been talk about the manager’s long-term future.
Football Insider revealed on 23 May that Amorim is unlikely to be sacked despite the outcome of the Europa League final and a dismal domestic season.
The boss is expected to come under pressure at the beginning of next season if results do not improve after he is backed in the transfer window.
This comes after Football Insider revealed Amorim is expected to be Man United manager at the start of next season regardless of the outcome of the final.
