Cowboys Trade Rumor for Jalen Ramsey Ties To Agent David Mulugheta

FRISCO - We know the Miami Dolphins and seven-time Pro Bowl corner Jalen Ramsey are officially exploring a trade to end their relationship ... and that a breakup seems inevitable.

We also know that ESPN is suggesting that the Dallas Cowboys are on the list of three suitors for the services of the standout with the $72 million contract.

This possible move does not fit the approach of the "nowadays'' Jones family, and we say that with full awareness of the trade just made for Steelers receiver George Pickens - with a reminder note: Dallas is paying Pickens rookie-contract money, peanuts, with no promise of an extension.

So the Pickens move is flashy and risky, but also cheap.

What about this one?

Ramsey is owed $25 million in 2025 ... but with a $4 million roster bonus already triggered, we believe the acquiring team would only take on $21 million this season. Ramsey is currently under contract through 2028, and the money grows increasingly problematic with each subsequent season.

But $21 mil for a 30-year-old superstar cornerback? Dallas is paying Trevon Diggs $20 mil per ... so we know the Cowboys wouldn't argue against that being "fair.''

So, what's the next step? Maybe deal with the agent.

And why does that matter? Ramsey’s rep is David Mulugheta—the same agent currently at war with Jerry Jones over the Micah Parsons extension.

Jones, as you know, famously pretended not to know David's name.

Is that enough to screw up an otherwise sensible trade? Nah; Mulugheta's job is to serve his client, not to get even.

Much more worthy of mention is Dallas COO Stephen Jones' infamous frugality when it comes to "credit-card'' spending. ... and some of that might be needed here.

In the end, and long-term, David and the Joneses figure to do a lot of business together, from Micah on down. And as it relates to Ramsey?

Hey, just in case, it makes sense for all parties to know each others' names.
