Fabrizio Romano says Man Utd have told£30m player he can leave this summer after eight years

Manchester United’s expected summer clear-out has begun following the disappointment of a Europa League final defeat.

Ineos are set for a very busy summer with Ruben Amorim’s squad expected to look very different by the time August arrives.

It is imperative that this happens after the season Manchester United have had, sitting 16th in the Premier League, so there is no way the club could keep the same players.

Already, Amorim has told Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club, with the Argentine expected to significantly bolster the transfer coffers this summer.

In addition, United could be offered £100m to sell Bruno Fernandes this summer by Al-Hilal, which would give Ineos a substantial amount to spend on new signings.

However, the clearout won’t only see big names leave, with smaller names also set to depart the club this summer.

Victor Lindelof set to leave Manchester United

It has long been assumed that Ineos could oversee at least 10 Man Utd players’ exits this summer, with four names set to see their contracts expire next month.

Of the four, Tom Heaton is tipped to sign a new deal at United, while for Victor Lindelof, it seems like it will be the end of the line

This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the Swedish international’s future is decided.

United and Lindelof have now agreed to part ways this summer, with the decision being made over the past few days following a meeting between the club and the player.

Lindelof has proposals from Italy and Spain, both of which would suit his slower game as he advances in age.

Lindelof could also be joined by Christian Eriksen and Jonny Evans, who both will see their contracts at United expire in June.

How many games has Victor Lindelof played for Manchester United?

Somehow, Lindelof has managed to survive at United for eight years, having joined under Jose Mourinho in 2017. Since then, he has been in and out of favour across various managers, but under Amorim, his exit seemed a sure thing.

Over his eight years at United, Lindelof managed to make 283 appearances, with four goals and seven assists in this time.

Earlier this weekend, Lindelof’s wife admitted she was preparing to say goodbye to Manchester, which she admitted is going to be difficult.

Lindelof’s exit won’t have to be replaced by United due to the smaller workload next season without European football, and so his £120,000-a-week wage can entirely go to the planned transfer business.
