Rams Defender Compares 2025 Offense to Historic Super Bowl Champion

The Los Angeles Rams turned to defense during their late charge to the NFC West title. Safety Quentin Lake not only has big expectations for that unit ahead of 2025, but even higher ones for the offense -- including dropping a stirring prediction.

Lake delivered his bold declarations for the opposite side of the football during his Friday appearance on "The Insiders" on NFL Network. He even compared the '25 Rams offense to one historic Super Bowl championship team known for creating a high-octane offense.

"We got our future Hall of Famer Matthew Stafford. I call him mister long handoff," Lake said on the show. "I expect big things. You've got Puka (Nacua) on one end, you've got Davante Adams on the other. Tutu Atwell does a fantastic job, too. We have all the weapons that we need, and then Kyren (Williams) in the backfield."

That's when Lake revealed this major comparison.

Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph (31) tackles L.A. Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (17) during the second half of the NFL wild-card playoff game at Ford Field in Detroit on Sunday, Jan, 14, 2024.

"It's gonna be kind of reminiscent of the Greatest Show on Turf. I hope we kind of bring that name back this year," Lake said.

There you have it. Lake believes this Rams offense will re-create the theatrics and explosive nature of the famed championship teams of the 1999 season and early 2000s.

Rams fans remember Kurt Warner firing on all cylinders in St. Louis during that time. Marshall Faulk created mismatches as a running and receiving threat. Future Hall of Famer Isaac Bruce led the wide receiver room. And a young rookie named Torry Holt attacked defenses down the field.

Stafford won Super Bowl LVI before Lake's arrival. Now the safety boldly believes this offense will be similar to the Warner-led Rams.
