Eagles Limited By One Major Weakness?

As a team that scored a combined 95 points in the conference championship game and Super Bowl LIX last year, the Philadelphia Eagles enter the new season as one of the favorites for the upcoming season.

After steamrolling through some of the best teams in the league last year, the Eagles are seen as candidates for a repeat title game appearance.

That is, if they can solve one of their lone supposed weaknesses entering the offseason workout period.

Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine believes that the team has a clear issue along the interior of their defensive line.

"Howie Roseman's ability to dominate the draft has been crucial to building this roster. He just seems to find good football players in every class," Ballentine wrote. "That's why he's earned the benefit of the doubt even after they lost players like Milton Williams and Josh Sweat in free agency.

"That being said, Milton Williams will be difficult to replace. He was sixth in pass rush win rate among all defensive tackles last season. They also have some depth concerns on offense. Losing Mekhi Becton leaves them with a little less line depth than they are used to."

It's easy to say players like Milton Williams and Josh Sweat departing the team will leave a massive hole for the champion Eagles. Unlike most teams, though, the Eagles have prepared for their departures over the last few years.

And it's why we say the team should be fine even along their interior defensive line at this point.

And indeed, that's what the organization is expecting going into the 2025 season.
