The Minnesota Timberwolves turned the tables on the Oklahoma City Thunder with a thumping 42-point win in game three of the Western Conference Finals.
Minnesota put up a franchise playoff record 143 points in an incredible display, that inflicted the Thunder’s biggest ever playoff loss and flipped the script on the series so far.
The first seed Thunder easily accounted for the Timberwolves on their home court with 26 and 15 point wins to start the series, and the trend of home team domination continued in Minnesota as the sixth seed got their first win of the series on the board.

The Timberwolves blew away OKC in the opening half with Anthony Edwards entering beast mode as the hosts led by a whopping 31 points when both teams hit the locker room.
The 71 points Minnesota put up in the first half is a franchise record for a playoff game, they led by as much as 35 at one point and it was all inspired by their three-time All-Star.

Edwards had 20 first half points, to go with eight rebounds and three assists in a breathtaking display that included single-handedly outscoring the Thunder in the opening term with 16 points as the Timberwolves led by 20 at the first break.
The contrast in shooting at either end of the floor was stark with the Timberwolves shooting 27-for-48 from the field and 9-for-19 on 3s during their first half rampage, while the Thunder were 12-for-40 and 6-for-23 in the same stretch.
“I was super happy about the physicality that we brought and the energy that we brought,” Edwards said post-match.
The Timberwolves did not let up in the second half despite taking the chance to get minutes into their bench players, while the starters rested.
Edwards finished with a game-high 30 points, nine rebounds and six assists as he and Julius Randle (24 points), who responded from being bench in game two, played 30 minutes, the equal most of anyone on the court.
Terrence Shannon Jr. (15 points), Nickeil Alexander-Walker (12), Leonard Miller (11) and Naz Reid (10) all hit double digits for points off the bench for the Timberwolves.
But the home crowd were left disappointed in the final minutes as they chanted for coach Chris Finch to inject beloved Australian veteran Joe Ingles into the game, but he remained seated.
League MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had an equal team-high 14 points on a night to forget for the Thunder.
The series will continue in Minnesota when game four tips off at 10:30am AEST on Tuesday.
