Liverpool transfer news as Florian Wirtz salary'revealed'and Everton eye Reds star

After Liverpool so brilliantly wrapped up the Premier League, the focus naturally shifted to the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

As soon as that became clear it then turned to transfers. And the activity surrounding transfers and Liverpool has exploded. Jeremie Frimpong has completed the first part of his medical, Milos Kerkez seems set to replace Alexander-Arnold, and on Friday night there was a late Florian Wirtz bombshell.

The German has informed Bayern Munich that he doesn't intend to join them and Liverpool is now the front runner to land the exciting talent. But there's a few things left to iron out, including his salary. Liverpool.com takes a look at the transfer rumors.

Florian Wirtz salary

Wirtz will likely be Liverpool's record signing at $169 million (£126 million). But the spending won't stop there with the 22-year-old likely to command a hefty salary.

Scoring 10 goals and assisting 12 others in 31 Bundesliga games won't come cheap and, according to Sky Sports (via Give Me Sport ), it seems the Reds are willing to part with £325,000 ($440,000) per week. That would put him in second, just shy of Mohamed Salah, in the salary charts.

Liverpool.com says: There are two schools of thought here. One, if you're already spending $169 million on a talent you firmly believe in, then the salary is going commensurate that. Two, for a club that has been so careful with its wages this could be seen as a risky move.

Not only could it said a precedent for future signings but it could also upset the apple cart. Is a generational talent worth it? That's for the club to decide.

Blues want Ben

Ben Doak had a stellar season at Middlesbrough, and boss Michael Carrick has previously made his thoughts clear on the winger. So it's no surprise for Liverpool that it would have interest in the 19-year-old.

What is a surprise is that bitter rivals Everton want to sign him. That's according to The Telegraph, with the English outlet claiming Blues boss David Moyes is very keen on the winger.

While the Reds are not actively looking to sell Doak, he is valued at between £30-40 ($40-$54) million. A bid towards the latter end of that range could well be entertained.

Liverpool.com says: It shouldn't matter what fee is from Everton, there is no way Liverpool should or would accept. Simple as that.
