St James’ Park has been a fortress for Newcastle United under Eddie Howe, and they'll need one final push to secure European football at the highest level. A victory here would seal their spot, and given their impressive form at home, there's plenty of optimism in the air. This season, Newcastle has amassed 38 points from 18 home matches, consistently finding the net multiple times in each of their last six games on Tyneside. With six consecutive wins at home, confidence is high that they can finish the job.

In stark contrast, Everton arrives with little left to fight for. Their league position is set, and they've already bid farewell to Goodison Park ahead of their historic move to a new stadium next season. This might offer them a sense of freedom, but it could also mean they're already mentally checked out.

David Moyes has managed to keep Everton unbeaten in their last three outings, yet their away form remains shaky. They've won just two of their last five away games, averaging less than a goal per match. Newcastle's recent record against Everton is strong, having won three of their last four home encounters and keeping clean sheets in half of their league games at St James’ Park.

While there are some injury concerns for Newcastle, notably top scorer Alexander Isak, the squad possesses enough depth to handle this challenge. They've only failed to score in two home matches all season and will be fully aware of what's required when they take the field on Sunday.

Everton will likely be well-organised defensively, but with an average away xG of just 1.17 and failing to score in eight of their 18 away fixtures this season, containing a motivated Newcastle side might prove difficult—especially with defensive injuries mounting.
