Liverpool fans have slammed Trent Alexander-Arnold for his latest social media post ahead of his final game for the club. The full-back is set to leave his boyhood club at the end of his contract, with Sunday's clash against Crystal Palace his final opportunity to play in front of an Anfield crowd.
Since announcing his decision to leave the club, Alexander-Arnold has become public enemy number one for Liverpool fans, with even Jurgen Klopp saying that he doesn't agree with the treatment the defender has received. Nevertheless, that hasn't stopped Liverpool fans from voicing their displeasure with his latest social media activity.

The defender posted on social media ahead of Sunday's game
Taking to Twitter ahead of the Crystal Palace game, Alexander-Arnold posted a picture of a pair of Adidas predators which had the years 2005 and 2025 embroidered onto them - the year he joined Liverpool as a boy and the year he leaves them as a two-time Premier League champion. This was also accompanied by the caption '20 years. Gave it everything.'
Fans have chosen to see right through the sentimental post, however, and have slammed the defender for what they believe to be the true intentions of the post - promoting Adidas.
One fan wrote: "And there it is, right there. More arsed about your little snide brand deals than the football club you played for. Enjoy modelling Gucci undies in Madrid, Mr Celebrity," while another added: "What's this, an Adidas advert? Summer of 66 can't drop the brand for one second."
"Last game ever for your boyhood club and you’re using it to promote a pair of Adidas boots. Embarrassing," claimed a third while a fourth chimed in saying "Advertising Adidas preds on what might be his goodbye post tells you everything."
A fifth stated: "I get it’s his last game but I find it weird your boyhood club has won the league, you’re lifting the title in two days and you’re finding a way to make the efforts of the entire club all about you," as sixth said: "Adidas advert on departure don't let the door hit you on the way out son."
The sentiment could largely be summed up though by one more supporter, who wrote: "An Adidas advert before your last game for your boyhood club, a day you’ll be lifting the Premier League title, is a sad, sad way to go out."

Criticism of Alexander-Arnold giving priority to Adidas, and in tow, his personal brand, comes months after Jamie Carragher questioned whether or not his move to Real Madrid was motivated by making himself a bigger name culturally. Speaking on The Overlap, the former Liverpool man said:
"I think Trent is a player who looks at himself almost like a brand, and that’s not just him, a lot of players do now. I go back to an interview he gave on Sky Sports before Christmas, where he was given five options on which he’d pick as the most important for you – captain of Liverpool, win the Champions League with Liverpool, win the World Cup with England, or win the Ballon d’Or – and he chose the Ballon d’Or.
"He wanted to be the first full-back that won the Ballon d’Or, and there’s nothing wrong with having ambition, but that didn’t go down particularly well with Liverpool supporters."
