Manchester United are open to offers for several players this summer after missing out on Champions League football
Manchester United cannot rule out any players leaving the club this summer as player exits will prove decisive in who they can recruit. Ruben Amorim is keen to put his own stamp on the squad as he looks to sign players better suited to his style of play.
According to Transfermarkt values, United’s current squad is worth around £586m - but that excludes players out on loan such as Marcus Rashford and Antony. United’s squad value with players out on loan factored in rises to £680m. Of course, the whole squad cannot depart but it does give Amorim the opportunity to sell unwanted stars that would then allow him to sign players more suited to his system.
There is also the added factor of players who are set to leave on a free transfer with the likes of Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen moving on for nothing once their contracts run out.

Manchester United’s financial picture before potential player sales
If United are able to secure their top targets in Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap, it would cost £92.5m with both players having release clauses in their contracts. It means that sales are key if Amorim wants more players in the summer as those two stars will take up the majority of the planned £100m budget. However, there may be wiggle room if the club can agree to pay the release clauses over a number of years.
The Red Devils still have £272m to owe in outstanding transfer fees with £156m of that due to be paid this summer. Missing out on Champions League football has proven costly and their current financial picture means there can be no absolute guarantee of which players will remain at the club this summer.
The Old Trafford outfit will hope to offload some big wages too, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Casemiro among the highest-paid players at the club. Rashford is set for an exit, but it remains to be seen if a club will come in for Casemiro with a suitable enough offer to tempt the Brazilian to leave.
