Rodrygo releases emotional statement as Real Madrid exit confirmed

Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has sent a heartfelt message to departing manager Carlo Ancelotti amid speculation over his own future.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with a summer interest in the player. He has seen his game time in recent weeks reduced by both injury and illness.

It is reported in Germany that the Gunners are actively searching for a new winger this summer, with Rodrygo on the list of potential targets. It is claimed that talks over a potential move have taken place, but Rodrygo’s reported £8.4 million per year wages could be a stumbling block to any move.

The chance of a move could be increased by the changes happening at Real Madrid this summer. It has been confirmed that Ancelotti will move on in the off-season to take the role as Brazil’s national team manager and is being replaced by Xabi Alonso.

Real Madrid finished their season on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Real Sociedad in what was an occasion of goodbyes. As well as Ancelotti, club legend Luka Modric will also leave the club this summer, as will midfielder Lucaz Vazquez, who is known as Cafucas to his teammates.

Having previously penned a goodbye message to Modric , Rodrygo has now sent a message to both Ancelotti and Vazquez.

On Instagram, he shared pictures of himself with Ancelotti with a message reading: “Mister, I can't begin any other way than thanking you for EVERYTHING!

“You've written one of the most incredible chapters in Club history: the coach with the most titles. And I was lucky enough that our paths crossed, a dream come true.

“I take all the conversations, advices and scolds but most importantly, your affection and those unforgettable hugs in both victory and defeat.

“You're not just a coach. You are a mentor and a friend. Together we win Spain, Europe... and the world. Now we're going to conquer the world once again, this time with the yellow shirt.

“Let's keep writing our story together. I love you, Mister!”

He also shared a picture of him and Vazquez on his story, along with a message reading: “Cafucas my brother. Thank you for these years and especially for the friendship. You deserve the best!”

He then shared a squad picture of the team in front of big screens at the Bernabau that read: “Gracias Carlo” and “Gracias Luka.”
