Andrea Berta now wants to sign £42m Premier League winger if 'dream' move for Rodrygo collapses - journalist

Rodrygo Goes has emerged as a surprise target for Arsenal recently.

Andrea Berta personally wants to sign Rodrygo — who looks set to leave Real Madrid in the summer.

However, it seems like Berta has had a number of alternatives for every player who has caught his eye since day one at Arsenal.

Arsenal are interested in signing Nico Williams and the Italian sporting director has already held talks with the Spanish international’s camp.

Arsenal could trigger Eberechi Eze’s release clause as well.

Arsenal eyeing Kaoru Mitoma as Rodrygo alternative

Kaoru Mitoma seems to be the latest name to be linked with a move to Arsenal.

Liam Rosenior called Mitoma “outstanding” and during his time in the Premier League, the Brighton & Hove Albion winger has been an absolute revelation.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg has now revealed that Andrea Berta and his team have identified the Japanese international as one of the wide players Mikel Arteta’s side could add to their roster this summer.

As a result, Arsenal have added Mitoma’s name to their shortlist alongside the likes of Rodrygo and Williams.

The Real Madrid forward remains the Gunners’ “dream” signing but a move is currently stalling due to the Brazilian’s hefty wage demands.

🚨🆕 Not only are FC Bayern interested in Kaoru #Mitoma — Arsenal have also added him to their list for the summer!

Mitoma is available for £42 million as Bayern Munich are ready to snap him up.

Mitoma’s stance on leaving Brighton in the summer

The 28-year-old is one of the best left-wingers in the Premier League.

Known for being an outstanding dribbler, quick and blessed with impeccable technique, the Hita-born wideman has all the quality in the world to play at the highest level.

Mitoma is open to leaving Brighton as he would like to play in the Champions League, which Arsenal could offer him next season.

However, with Bayern also in the race for the Seagulls technician’s signature, only time will tell whether Andrea Berta has worked his charm to convince him to make the move to the Emirates Stadium.
