Real Madrid star Rodrygo has issued a message amid reports linking the forward with a move to Manchester United.
United face an uncertain summer transfer window following their defeat in the Europa League final.
Ruben Amorim and Co. now know they will not have Champions League or any European football for next term and are set to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
As a result, questions are now beginning to emerge about what United will have planned for the upcoming summer transfer window. A host of players have been linked with moving to Old Trafford, while others could head in the opposite direction out of the club.
Rodrygo is one player who has been mentioned as a potential target for United. Spanish news outlet AS reported last week that United are joined by Arsenal in expressing an interest in signing Rodrygo.
This report emerged before United's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final, and it remains to be seen if a move for the Brazilian would still be possible.
Amid the reported interest, Rodrygo took to social media on Saturday to issue an emotional message. The Madrid star posted on his Instagram story a brief video clip from inside the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of their La Liga finale against Real Sociedad.
Rodrygo included a teary-eyed emoji along with a white heart emoji on the post. This is likely to be in reference to the match being a farewell for manager Carlo Ancelotti and club legend Luka Modric, who will both leave the club this summer.
The match was also the final time that Lucas Vazquez featured for Madrid, with the defender also leaving the club this summer. Rodrygo posted a message on his Instagram story to his teammate.
"Thank you for these years and above all for the friendship," wrote Rodrygo. "You deserve all the best."
