Kevin De Bruyne set to join Serie A champions Napoli

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has been informed that Kevin De Bruyne has agreed terms to join the Italian champions Napoli.

As per sources, Antonio Conte made a strong push to sign the player, and Napoli have now made a major breakthrough in their pursuit.

It’s understood that De Bruyne has turned down interest from clubs in MLS, the Saudi Pro League, and even from within the Premier League in order to explore this next chapter in Italy.

TBR Football is also told that former Manchester United and Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku played a big role in convincing the 33-year-old to join the Italian giants.

Kevin De Bruyne’s incredible career in numbers

De Bruyne joined Manchester City from Wolfsburg for £54.5m in 2015, and has since then established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League era.

The Belgian maestro has been the lynchpin of Pep Guardiola’s side that has been so successful over the years.

In 10 years at the club, De Bruyne has made over 420 appearances, scoring 108 goals and assisting another 177, and has won everything there is to win during his time at the club.

While his final season has been an underwhelming one by Man City’s standards, the 33-year-old will finish his Man City career with six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups, and one Champions League.
