Nottingham Forest could promote Lewis Grabban if chief football officer Ross Wilson moves to League One side Huddersfield Town.
Huddersfield are keen on hiring Wilson to drive their next promotion bid having fallen short in their quest to return to the Championship at the first attempt.
It has been claimed that Wilson will be offered a senior recruitment role by the Terriers.
That would leave Forest needing a replacement for Wilson who joined the club two years ago having previously been sporting director at Rangers.
Wilson, 41, has played his part in Forest’s transformation from relegation battlers to Champions League contenders by helping to make a series of impressive signings.
According to The Sun's Alan Nixon, Forest would look in-house for Wilson’s replacement and ex-City Ground striker Grabban is an option.
Grabban, who scored 56 goals in 149 appearances for Forest in a four-year stint, returned to the club last year as part of the B team’s coaching set-up.
The 37-year-old is said to have impressed owner Evangelos Marinakis and could be in line for a promotion if Wilson leaves at the end of the season.
