Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Manchester City’s ranks ahead of the summer.
Manchester United are plotting swoops for a number of interesting signings this window, specifically attacking options as a raft of players are expected to leave Old Trafford.
After Sunday, the Red Devils will put this season to forget behind them and focus on building themselves back up over the summer. Ruben Amorim has reportedly informed players he will be staying at the club beyond this season, despite offering to walk away if the club deemed it the right decision.
To boost their options up front, United are exploring a number of new signings, and one is pretty close to home based on new reports.
Man United interested in signing Jack Grealish
The 29-year-old has endured a tough season under Pep Guardiola as he has struggled with both form and fitness. Grealish has made just seven Premier League starts this campaign and has notched a total of three goals and five assists across all competitions.
His limited time on the pitch, teamed up with City’s below par results, have led to speculation over the winger’s future.
beIN SPORTS reporter Richard Keys hinted at this rumour earlier this week in his blog, teasing a ‘cross town transfer that would cause a real storm’ but one that would ‘be good for all parties’.
However, Keys has since taken to social media with a follow up, posting online about how United’s lack of Champions League football could snub their chances of signing Grealish. Before the talks have already gotten off the ground, Keys has suggested the dream could already be over.
“What are the chances both Manchester clubs start next season with a new coach? And with no Champions League football, I guess that puts an end to United’s chances of tempting Jack across the city. I can hear the screaming denials already.”
Will Jack Grealish leave Man City?
Grealish’s time at City looks like it’s coming to an end. According to talkSPORT, the England international is ‘ready to push’ for a move away from the Etihad once the season concludes.
Grealish was ‘hugely disappointed’ at being left on the bench during City’s FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace, even when his side were pushing for an equaliser.
Grealish arrived at City back in 2021 for a record £100 million. He made the switch from boyhood club Aston Villa and has won seven trophies since, but he will be well aware that he will need more regular playing time from next season. If he is to impress Thomas Tuchel and put his name in the hat for a World Cup call-up, Grealish will need to seriously consider his options this summer.
