How to follow Newcastle United’s final game of the 2024-25 season against Everton at St James’ Park.
Newcastle United head into their final game of the 2024-25 Premier League season with everything still to play for.
Eddie Howe’s side host Everton at St James’ Park knowing a win will guarantee Champions League qualification. Anything less and they’ll be relying on other teams doing them a favour.
Newcastle sit third in the Premier League table above fourth-place Chelsea and fifth-place Aston Villa on goal difference with all three teams level on 66 points. Nottingham Forest are seventh on 65 points.
Chelsea and Forest go up against each other at the City Ground while Aston Villa travel to Manchester City. If the Magpies don’t win, they essentially need to hope Chelsea or Forest draw or equal Villa’s result at Old Trafford.

For UK viewers, the game will not be broadcast live on TV, which caused something of a stir among Newcastle supporters.
TNT Sports have selected Manchester United against Aston Villa, while Sky Sports have chosen Nottingham Forest versus Chelsea as one of their two picks. And it is Sky’s second pick, Liverpool versus Crystal Palace, that has attracted criticism.
The clash at Anfield is essentially a dead rubber - Liverpool were confirmed as Premier League champions last month while FA Cup winners Palace can realistically finish no higher than ninth due to their goal difference.
Essentially, the Sky cameras are there to capture what happens AFTER the 90 minutes, when Arne Slot’s side lift the Premier League title.

What has Eddie Howe said about Newcastle United v Everton?
With Newcastle at home and in charge of their own destiny, Howe admits he couldn’t have asked for much more. He is, however, wary of Everton’s threat.
Howe said: “I think that's what we would ask, to be at home in front of our supporters. It's in our hands. I don't think we can ask for any more at this moment. Then, of course you have to do the difficult part and take that opportunity and it's by no means a given.

“Everton have been in really good form. They've been difficult to beat, haven't conceded a lot of goals so we know the challenge is a big one. They've got threats in their team as well so we're going to have to be focused, concentrate on what we need to do to win the game and hopefully then the crowd can carry us through.
“I don't think we can look for any favours from anybody. We have to do our bit. And that's purely going to be the only thing in our minds. There'll be no talk of other results or other teams. What we'll be will be in that respect afterwards. We'll see and reflect but for us we know what we have to do.”
