The farewell tour reaches its emotional conclusion this afternoon as the Hammers bid farewell to loyal servants [Aaron Cresswell,](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-battle-cherries-for-cresswell-upgrade/) Lucas Fabianski and Vlad Coufal. You’d have to hope they all get a moment on the pitch to wave goodbye to their own fans – especially Fabianski who has been such a brilliant Hammers’ signing and squad member.
Potter’s big decision last week to leave Fabianski on the bench at London Stadium was clearly upsetting for the Pole who didn’t get a chance to say his own farewells at home. The least that the Hammers’ manager can do is use him for five minutes this afternoon act the start or end of the game and allow him a moment of gratitude from the away fans.
Aaron Cresswell is rumoured to be heading back to Ipswich Town where he started his career after the end of his West Ham contract. I still feel Potter is making a mistake in letting ‘Cressie’ leave at a time when leaders n the pitch are in short supply. Fingers crossed the Hammers get a free kick just outside the ‘box this afternoon and Cresswell gets the chance to show us one last time that all those years of dead ball expertise are about to be lost forever.
Plus there will be a few thousand West Ham fans who will be sticking £20 on Cressie to score – so we hope that West Ham’s long-serving vice captain can sign off in style. We’re going to miss you, Aaron.
