Since joining Manchester United from Ajax, the tenure of Andre Onana between the sticks has not been easy.
The 27-year-old goalie, who was once praised for his outstanding Eredivisie exploits, has had a difficult time adjusting to life in the Premier League.
This season, Andre Onana has had a terrible season in all competitions.
United lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final because of a crucial error made by the keeper.
Onana said that United are “way better” than Lyon prior to the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinal, which naturally infuriated the Lyon team.
By calling Onana “one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United history,” Matic decided to retaliate.
And the Serbian was the last to chuckle as Onana committed two crucial errors that allowed Lyon to score.
In response to Onana’s assertion that United was significantly superior to Lyon, Matic pointed out that Onana is statistically the worst custodian United has ever had.
Onana lived up to the statistics and Matic’s remarks, as his teammates appeared to be becoming weary of the unreliable goaltender.
Now, Ruben Amorim has made a bold call on Onana’s position for the game against Aston Villa.

CentreDevils can exclusively confirm that Andre Onana has been dropped by Ruben Amorim for this afternoon’s fixture against Aston Villa.
It is unclear as of now, however, if the goalkeeper will leave this summer or not.
There have been reports that Manchester United have been looking at goalkeeper replacements for the Cameroon international, but no definitive messages have been raised on that situation.
Due to United’s financial predicament, it would be dangerous to sell the keeper for less than his book value.
Therefore, this summer, a loan agreement might be the only way out.
Onana has been under more and more scrutiny as the season has gone on, with concerns raised about his capacity to adjust to Amorim’s tactical scheme.
The former Inter Milan number one has frequently been exposed in pivotal situations, which has resulted in expensive errors, and United’s defence has also been a weakness.
