Wow: Liverpool could be offered shock deal to sign 'incredible' forward after Wirtz - report

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly chosen Liverpool as one of the clubs he'd sign for after Ruben Amorim told the Argentine to find a new club.

Garnacho was furious after being left out of Amorim's starting lineup for the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. He took aim at his manager after "playing every round and helping the team" before only being handed "20 minutes" in the final.

The 20-year-old's frustrations are set to lead to a departure this summer. Amorim informed him and the rest of the squad of his decision over the club's academy graduate during a meeting on Saturday, per The Athletic.

Spanish outlet DefensaCentral reports that Garnacho wants to join Real Madrid and has "instructed his agent to first explore" the La Liga giants. But it's unlikely a move to the Santiago Bernabeu will take place given the Spanish side's attacking talent including Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, and Arda Guler.

Garnacho's representatives would have to turn elsewhere and have a list of other destinations that includes Liverpool, Bayern Munich and a return to Atletico Madrid. Chelsea and Napoli were keen on signing him in January but the Argentina international remained at Old Trafford with no club willing to meet his £70m price-tag.

A move to Anfield would be a shocking development and seems inplausible with the Merseyside Reds focused on strengthening Arne Slot's squad in other areas.

Jeremie Frimpong is set to be confirmed as Trent Alexander-Arnold's replacement in a £30m deal. His Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz reportedly wants to join the newly-crowned Premier League champions over Bayern Munich and could arrive in a transfer record £126m.

A new number nine is also on their radar amid Darwin Nunez's expected departure and this could see them move for Newcastle United's Alexander Isak. A deal for the Swedish striker could cost around £127m but he is intrigued by a move.

Garnacho, dubbed "incredible" by teammate Rasmus Hojlund, would undoubtedly not be a priority, nor is there any suggestion that Liverpool would want to sign him. He showed inconsistency throughout the season, coming in and out of Amorim's team, while there are now question marks over his professionalism.

There has been speculation growing over Luis Diaz's future amid reports suggesting Barcelona are interested in the Colombian winger. The 28-year-old would need replacing if he were to depart but GMS sources understand that the club are set to hold talks over a contract extension.
