ALEXANDER ISAK has been passed fit to start Newcastle United's final game of the season at home to Everton.

Eddie Howe's side know they will secure a place in next season's Champions League, and their prospects have been boosted by the availability of Isak.

The Swedish striker has shaken off the groin problem that kept him out of last weekend's defeat at Arsenal, and returns to the Magpies' starting XI.

Isak replaces Callum Wilson, who drops out of the line-up that started the 1-0 defeat at the Emirates.

Kieran Trippier is also back from injury, but the full-back finds himself on the substitutes' bench this afternoon.

As a result, Howe will stick with the 3-4-3 formation he has used in the last few games, with Sven Botman continuing alongside Fabian Schar and Dan Burn at centre-half.

NEWCASTLE (3-4-3): Pope; Schar, Botman, Burn; Murphy, Tonali, Guimaraes, Livramento; Barnes, Isak, Gordon.

Subs: Dubravka, Trippier, Lascelles, Wilson, Krafth, Osula, Willock, Longstaff, Miley
