Liverpool fans arrived at Anfield hours before their final game of the season as excitement built to see the team lift the Premier League trophy. The Reds were confirmed champions following a 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last month.
At 4pm, Liverpool will play their final game of the season against FA Cup Winners Crystal Palace. After the game finishes, Arne Slot’s side will be handed the Premier League trophy.
The trophy will be presented to captain Virgil Van Dijk by Liverpool legend Alan Hansen. It will be the first time in 30 years that Liverpool has been able to celebrate winning the league title in a full ground.
Liverpool last won the Premier League in 2020 but covid meant the final home game of the season took place in an empty stadium. After a few near misses since, Liverpool fans from the city and across the globe are arriving in the city to make the most of the celebrations.
The trophy will be paraded through Liverpool tomorrow. You can see an amazing gallery of Liverpool fans around Anfield below.
