Analyst Gives Odd Reaction to Bills Biggest Needs

In four of the last five seasons, the Buffalo Bills have had a top 10 defense in football. Despite their consistent success, the team has yet to reach the Super Bowl for a number of different reasons.

If the team wants to finally get over that hump, they'll need their defense to continue to be among the best in football.

According to one reporter, though, there's one position group that could hold the unit back in 2025.

Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine broke down positional needs for all 32 teams after the 2025 draft, and surprisingly picked the Bills' safety room as the weak leak for the franchise.

"It was surprising that the Bills didn't do more to address the safety position," Ballentine wrote. "Perhaps Cole Bishop will take on more responsibility in his second season, but the starting combo of Damar Hamlin and Taylor Rapp are the weak link of the defense as constructed."

Rapp has been one of the more consistent box-safeties in the sport. Bishop is a high-profile former second round pick. Add in Hamlin and free agent addition Darrick Forrest, and the Bills secondary room is a lot better than many other groups around the league.

Is it a weak link on the Bills defense? That remains to be seen. At least until the start of the regular season.

For the most part, though, the Bills safety room may be among the most underrated groups based on Ballentine's thought process.
