Manchester United-linked Viktor Gyokeres has sent a message on social media ahead of what could be his final game for Sporting.

The Sweden international has emerged as one of Europe's leading strikers in recent years, boasting an impressive tally of 95 goals in 100 matches since his move from Coventry City to Liga Portugal in July 2023.

Sporting's top goalscorer this season has made a substantial impact in the Portuguese top-flight, scoring 39 goals and providing eight assists in 33 appearances. The 26-year-old has been a key figure in Rui Borges' squad, propelling Sporting to another league title.

But the forward could be about to play his final game for the club on Sunday night. Gyokeres is expected to line up against Benfica in the Taça de Portugal final on Sunday evening before making a decision on whether he will stay at the Portuguese champions.

And ahead of the game, the attacker has posted a picture of him in action for Sporting alongside the caption, "Let's go," and a lion emoji.

Gyokeres has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford since the appointment of former head coach Ruben Amorim at M16 in November. The Reds are in dire need of a consistent goal scorer this summer, having only netted 42 times in the Premier League.

However, The Manchester Evening News understands that United have set their sights on Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap as their main target to strengthen their attack this summer, rather than Gyokeres.

Meanwhile, Portuguese publication Correio da Manha report that United's top-flight rivals Arsenal have made a significant move for the star forward. They claim that the Gunners have already agreed personal terms with Gyokeres and are now pushing to have their bid accepted.
