Fans arrived at Anfield hours before kick off as excitement built to see the team lift the Premier League trophy. Red flares filled the air as fans lined the street to welcome the team ahead of the match.
The Reds were confirmed champions following a 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last month. After the game finishes, Arne Slot’s side will be handed the Premier League trophy which will be presented to captain Virgil Van Dijk by Liverpool legend Alan Hansen.
In 2020, Liverpool won the Premier League but were unable to lift the trophy in front of fans due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but this time it will be in front of a packed Anfield with over 60,000 fans in attendance.
