David Moyes has made some intriguing decisions as Everton take on Newcastle in the final game of the season.
The Scot’s hand was forced by a few injuries, with Seamus Coleman and Jarrad Branthwaite missing out through injury.
However, his most contentious call was not to start Abdoulaye Doucoure, who had to settle for a place on the bench.
Indeed, with how things are going for Idrissa Gueye, it may only be a matter of time until Moyes makes a decision.

Moyes should bring on Doucoure for Gueye
The omission of Doucoure was an interesting one, seeing as he has played a pivotal role in the North West club’s success this season.

Moyes’ decision may have had something to do with the news that the midfielder would be leaving Goodison Park this summer.
The former West Ham manager stated that the Frenchman would depart as he has received a better offer from elsewhere.
However, it has not been confirmed which club that is.

Although on the bench, Moyes should bring him on for Gueye, who has underperformed in the first half against the Magpies.
Everton have had to do lots of defending as Newcastle chase a goal which could secure Champions League football.
However, the best chance of the game came to Everton when Carlos Alcaraz’s bullet header was well-tipped over by Nick Pope.

Doucoure can clinch famous Everton farewell
If Moyes does bring on Doucoure, then it will be his final appearance in the famous Toffees blue.
Undoubtedly, he will want to leave the North West club on a high, and the St James’ stage provides the perfect platform to do so.
The 32-year-old can be a real goal threat when on form and has five goal contributions so far this season.
Everton have shown promise in the encounter, and Moyes’ attacking line-up have come close in the first half.
By bringing on Doucoure, he could provide the perfect link to the Toffees’ attack, with several forwards already on the pitch.
Can Moyes ruin Newcastle’s Champions League pursuit? That would be the perfect end of the season for Everton.
