Jack Hinshelwood scored a brace as Tottenham lost 4-1 to Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in their final Premier League fixture of a miserable domestic campaign.

Ange Postecoglou's side, playing their first game since winning the Europa League, took the lead in the first-half through Solanke from the spot.

Hinshelwood equalised for the visitors in the 51st minute, tucking in a scrappy finish from a Brighton corner.

The 20-year-old added a second 13 minutes later with a lovely backheel.

Matt O'Riley scored a late penalty before Diego Gomez added a fourth in stoppage time.

Spurs hosted Fabian Hurzeler's side just two days after their players celebrated in front of tens of thousands of fans in their Europa League victory parade.

They finish the season in 17th but qualify for next season's Champions League, having won their first trophy since 2008, and their first European honour in 41 years.

Meanwhile, Brighton finish in eighth place but will miss out on European football.
