Mikel Arteta needs more goals in his Arsenal side.
No Arsenal player managed to hit double figures for goals in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign – Kai Havertz scored the most with nine – a fact which needs to change if the Gunners are to push for the title next season.
Arsenal are, at least, seemingly on track to improve their lack of attacking threat with a move for Bryan Mbeumo, who hit a career landmark on the final day of the season.
Bryan Mbeumo hits 20 goals as Arsenal progress in talks
A post from TNATS – an Emirates Stadium insider – claimed last week that Arsenal are progressing in talks to sign Mbeumo from Brentford, who value the Cameroon international at £60m.
The Brentford No.19 only has one year left on his contract, although the Bees have an option to extend his terms by a further 12 months.
Thomas Frank has already said Mbeumo can leave this summer, but Brentford will surely be desperate to keep their talisman, even more so after he scored his 20th goal of the season in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Wolves.

Impressively, the man born in Avallon also registered eight assists in his 38 Premier League appearances this term, which is simply a fantastic return.
What Thierry Henry has said about potential Arsenal signing Bryan Mbeumo
If Arsenal do manage to land the 25-year-old, a club legend would be happy.

Thierry Henry hailed Mbeumo back in February, telling Sky Sports: “He is a gem, and I like the way he has evolved as a player. I know him from before, he used to play for the (France) under-21 team before changing nationality but I like the way he goes about it.
“I like the way he finishes, the way he asks for the ball in behind, he can press very well, he has an eye for a pass also. I think he’s a very good player.
“I don’t know how long he’s going to stay at Brentford. Sorry I don’t want to (speculate) but you can see how some teams can be interested in him at the end of the season.”
