Liverpool fans were thrilled as they spotted Linda Pizzuti serving food and drinks at Anfield this afternoon. The wife of the Reds' principal owner John Henry was at the stadium as Liverpool took on Crystal Palace in the final game of the season.

The Reds are set to lift the Premier League trophy this afternoon after they were confirmed champions following a 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last month. Pizzuti, whose husband Henry heads up American ownership group Fenway Sports Group, took to Instagram ahead of the 4pm kick off to share a photo of herself inside the ground.

She could be seen wearing a pink coat with a matching pink and red neckerchief. Pizzuti captioned the photo: "Final match of a historic season." Pizzuti stopped to pose for pictures with fans as she served everything from Scouse pie to hot dogs and pints of lager from inside the kiosk.

FSG, then New England Sports Ventures, bought Liverpool back in September 2010 and have seen the Reds win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and Club World Cup under their leadership. The Premier League trophy will be presented to captain Virgil Van Dijk by Liverpool legend Alan Hansen.

For many fans it will be the first time they have witnessed the Reds lift the league title in person and for others it will be something they have craved since it happened in May 1990.

In 2020, Liverpool won the Premier League but were unable to lift the trophy in front of fans due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But this time it will be in front of a packed Anfield with over 60,000 fans in attendance.

Red flares filled the air as fans lined the streets outside Anfield to welcome the team ahead of the match.

ECHO photographers and reporters are outside Anfield capturing the atmosphere as fans celebrate a moment that's been 35 years in the making.
