Manchester City will be back in the Champions League next season. A 2-0 win at Fulham confirmed third place for the Blues and means that their disappointing season ended on a winning note.

Kevin De Bruyne came off the bench in his final matchday with the Blues before he leaves on a free transfer, having decided against playing in the Club World Cup. He got the final few minutes as goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Erling Haaland proved too good for Fulham.

The home side did have their chances but they were made to pay for a slow start and weren't as clinical as they needed to be. Here are the player ratings from the Manchester Evening News.

Ederson: Two good saves in the first half and one in the second to keep City ahead. If it is his final game for the club, a nice way to go. 7

Nunes: Played as well as he did in the week against Bournemouth but without the silly error. His effort brought the goal. 8

Dias: Not always in control but enjoyed enough of it to keep the clean sheet with Jimenez a frustrated figure. 7

Akanji: Made sure to put himself in the way of danger to keep Fulham at bay, with a couple of important blocks. 7

Gvardiol: Very comfortable charging up the field but also had Traore's number whenever the two went up against each other. 7

Gonzalez: More happy pushing forward than sitting back and looked to make things happen, although he tired in the second half. 7

Silva: Combined his recent role shielding the defence with being happy to sling crosses into the box. 7

Gundogan: What a goal! An excellent performance on top of that, working back to help the defence and linking with Haaland and Marmoush. 8

Marmoush: Lively and involved. Still feels like he has a bit too much energy but the greater control and efficiency looks like it is in his locker. 7

Doku: When he gets it right, he is unplayable. There's still too many times where something goes wrong for all the ball he gets though. 7

Haaland: Won some decent balls high up the pitch but the attacking threat in front of goal was never really there before the penalty. 6

Substitutes

Savinho (for Doku, 74) One dangerous ball across the box. 6

Foden (for Marmoush, 82) Forced his way into the box. 6

Echeverri (for Haaland, 85) Charged about up front. 6

De Bruyne (for Gundogan, 85) King Kev. 6
